This five-day conference features a new hybrid retreat structure, integrating TED style talks, reflective work, open space technology, and integrated networking activities. 2010 International Conference on Sustainability
The 2010 International Conference on Sustainability: Energy, Economy, Environment featured keynote talks by Nicole Foss (Stoneleigh of The Automatic Earth), Dr. Joe Tainter (author of "The Collapse of Complex Societies"), Dr. Steve Keen (author of "Debunking Economics" and winner of the Revere Award), Richard Douthwaite (author of "The Ecology of Money"), David Korowicz (director of the Risk/Resilience Network), Chris Bedford (president of the Center for Economic Security), and Aaron Wissner (president of Local Future).
The three-day conference included presentations by Ellen Brown, author of the book "Web of Debt"; Peter Bane, editor of "Permaculture Activist" magazine; Kurt Cobb, author of "Prelude", a novel about peak oil; MaryAnn Lesert, author of the novel "Base Ten"; David Gard, Michigan Environmental Council; Christina Snyder, Architect of Passive Solar Homes; Nathan Ayers, Chiwara Permaculture Design; John Sarver, State of Michigan, Energy Office and Stephanie Mills author of In Service to the Wild.

The 2009 Conference on Michigan's Future: Energy, Economy & Environment takes a head on look at the economic crisis, the looming energy crisis, and the environment crisis and explores possible solutions and a vision of a more self-sufficient, sustainable, and resilient Michigan.
The four-day conference featured forty presenters including Dr. Robert Costanza, Thomas Greco, Richard Douthwaite, Dr. Soji Adelaja, Rich Wells, Bryn Davidson, Randy Udall, Dr. Richard Gilbert, Peter Sinclair, Stephanie Mills, Megan Bachman, and Albert Bates.

The three-day conference featuring fifty presenters including Dr. David Goodstein, Richard Heinberg, Julian Darley, U.S. Rep. Vernon Ehlers, Megan Bachman, Stephanie Mills, Albert Bates, Aaron Wissner and Pat Murphy.
Held May 2008 at Fine Arts Center at Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich.
2006 A Community Forum on Michigan's Energy Future
Speakers included Aaron Wissner, founder of the Local Future Network; David Gard, Energy Program Director for the Michigan Environmental Council; Dana Deley, Energy Program Advisor to Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm; and George Heartwell, Mayor of the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Two new documentary films screened: "The End of Suburbia: Oil Depletion and the Collapse of the American Dream" and "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil".
The organizing team consisted of Shirley Kallio, David Veenstra, Jeff Smith, Candi Teachout and Aaron Wissner. The conference was held at the historic Wealthy Theater in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday, July 22, 2006.
