Are you ready to work towards a sustainable local future?
There are many different ways individuals can take action, ranging from simply educating themselves, all the way to leading sustainability efforts in their communities.
Where are you on this continuum?
- Are you in the learning stage, just figuring out the big picture, understanding that you have more to learn?
- Are you ready, or have you begun, to prepare for a sustainable local future?
- Are you interested in or beginning to share what you have learned and done with others?
- Are you ready to begin to connect with others, to work together towards a local future?
- Are you ready to start facilitating and leading within your own community to help move things forward?
No matter where you are along this continuum, there is a place for you in the Local Future Network.
We are all at different points in our personal journeys. We all know that we are headed forward, to a new and amazing future. Yet as we travel, we are all on different roads. Each of us will come up against different roadblocks and hazards. Indeed, most of us will have a different understandings of our ultimate destination. The essential common thread is that we all share a belief that humanity can live sustainably as an integral part of the world, and we are all working to make this belief become reality.
Social Networking and Learning
You are invited to join and participate on the Local Future interactive page. Several times a week, links are posted with relevant information and news about moving towards a local future.
To post your own links for discussion, join the Local Future Discussion group page. Items posted on the Local Future Discussion page to not appear on the wall of members. Members must visit the discussion page to see these items. If you chose to join the discussion group, also be sure to join the Local Future page as linked at top.

Local Future maintains several email announcement lists to quickly send breaking news and information about Local Future events.
This list first list is for a general world audience, including announcements of international conferences and relevant publications including the publications of audio and video files from events. Anyone living outside of driving distance of Michigan should join this list.
