Local Future nonprofit organized a Training for Transition workshop in Michigan in 2009.
The 2009 trainers were Bill and Becky Wilson of Midwest Permaculture. Bill set up a Ning discussion site for the 2009 participants.

Local Future is pleased to announce the acclaimed "Training for Transition" workshop for the weekend of November 20 at the beautiful Pierce Cedar Creek Institute, featuring expert facilitators Bill and Becky Wilson of Stelle, Illinois. Pierce Cedar Creek Institute is conveniently located between Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek and Lansing near Hastings, Michigan.

The course includes the fundamentals for those wishing to know how to set up, run, and maintain a successful Transition Initiative.It is packed with imaginative and inspiring ways to delve into both the theory and practice of Transition, providing training in the basics of Transition for new communities coming on board, as well as other skills necessary to successfully set up and run a Transition Initiative.
The training is based on the newly-updated Training for Transition course developed by Naresh Giangrande and Sophy Banks in Totnes, England.
Who should attend:
Transition Initiative leaders, steering group members, working group members, and those considering Transition in their communities.
Instructors:
Bill Wilson (permaculturist, communitarian and teacher) is the co-founder of Midwest Permaculture along with his wife Rebecca. They are 30-year residents of the sustainably oriented community of Stelle, IL which hosts Read Moreits own garden, tool, chicken and dinner cooperatives.Becky Wilson is co-founder with her husband Bill of Midwest Permaculture and works from home creating educational courses and events. Becky served as community manager for 18 years and President of her Read Morehomeowners association for 8 years.
Certified as trainers by Transition U.S., they each bring more than three years of on-the-ground relocalization experience to the Transition Training, as well as long-time practice in organizational development, group process technologies, and psychological processes.

Friday, November 20 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 21 from 9:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Sunday, November 22 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Full registration for the Training for Transition is provided at cost at $149 per person. This is the lowest possible rate for this training.Registration includes lunch on Saturday, dinner on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday.
Space is limited. Please register as soon as possible to save your space and to guarantee meals.
Lodging is also available at Pierce Cedar Creek Institute for very reasonable rate (please call 269-721-4410 to inquire).
